These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Idyad research and care-monitoring platform available at idyad.org ("Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
1Eligibility
The Service is provided to research participants, study staff, and researchers who have been enrolled in an approved research program operated by Idyad or its institutional partners. You may not use the Service unless you have been enrolled by an authorized program coordinator.
2Acceptable use
- Use the Service only for purposes related to the research program in which you are enrolled.
- Do not attempt to access data belonging to other participants, reverse-engineer the platform, or circumvent security measures.
- Do not share your account credentials.
3Communications you receive
By creating an account, you agree to receive transactional email communications about your enrollment (daily summaries, account notifications, system updates).
If you optionally provide a mobile phone number and check the SMS consent box on the Notification Consent page (idyad.org/consent/, available after signing in), you also agree to receive transactional SMS messages as described below and in our Privacy Policy, Section 3.
SMS program terms
- Program: SMS notifications from the Idyad Research Platform.
- What we send: transactional, research-related messages only — daily summary alerts, reminders about activity goals you choose to set (only if you ask for text reminders), and operational notices about your devices or the study. No marketing, promotional, or third-party messages.
- Frequency: approximately one SMS per day or fewer.
- Cost: message and data rates may apply.
- Opt out: reply STOP to any Idyad SMS at any time. You can also withdraw consent on the Notification Consent page or email [email protected].
- Help: reply HELP for help, or contact [email protected].
- Optional: SMS consent is optional and is not required to participate in the research program.
- Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Full details of the opt-in process are at idyad.org/sms-opt-in.
4Research data
Data generated by wearable devices, sensors, and your use of the Service is collected pursuant to the research protocol you consented to during enrollment. We use it only for the research purposes described in that consent and in our Privacy Policy.
Connected accounts. You may optionally connect a Fitbit (Google) account so that Idyad can read your activity, heart, and sleep data through the Google Health API. Connecting is voluntary, access is read-only, and you can disconnect at any time from your Google Account settings or by contacting us. What we access and how it is handled is described in Section 4 of our Privacy Policy. Your use of Google services remains subject to Google's own terms.
5Termination
You may withdraw from the program at any time per the procedures described in your enrollment documents. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that pose a security risk.
6Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" for research purposes. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Reports and metrics are informational only.
7Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Idyad is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
8Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
